Alstom announced yesterday signed with the Brazilian wind energy specialist, Renova Energia, a contract worth about 320 million euros for the supply, installation and commissioning of wind turbines in the 127 to Umburanas complex, located in the state of Bahia.

Wind types ECO 122, ECO 110 and ECO 100 will be delivered between January 2017 and January 2018. With its 355.5 MW wind farm of Umburanas complex will have capacity to supply power to nearly 700,000 people.

This new order is part of a framework agreement signed by the two companies in 2013. This agreement includes the supply, eventually, more than 440 wind turbines with a total installed capacity of 1.5 GW and operating services and maintenance for a value that could reach over one billion euros.

“Our partnership with Renova Energia is one of the most important agreements global wind market. The contract we signed confirms the positive development of this project to provide a clean and sustainable energy to the aims population, “said Yves Rannou, Senior Vice-President in charge of Alstom’s wind business.

The turbines will be produced in the Alstom factory in Camaçari.

** More than 2,600 turbines are currently installed or under construction in more than 200 wind farms with a capacity of producing more than 5,000 MW. Alstom designs and manufactures onshore and offshore wind turbines in the range of 1.67 to 6 MW, providing solutions to all geographical and climatic conditions. To date, Alstom has signed contracts for the equivalent of 2.5 GW of wind capacity in Brazil.
