Cuban specialists will drive in the second half of the current year to take advantage of research of wind power and other renewables. The investigation sought to determine the most feasible in order to build a new wind farm, preferably in the area of the northern coast of eastern Cuba, the best wind currents.
The wind equipment installed in different parts of the archipelago seek to determine the wind speed, altitude and average temperatures. The two wind farms in Gibara, in the northeastern province of Holguín, delivered in the past three and a half years approximately 30,000 MWh national electric system.
